Thread: Subtract data from two worksheets into a third

HI,

I've been searching for what seems forever yet I'm lost as I really don't know how to use Excel yet. I'm sure it's a simple solution but I can't figure it out.

I need to be able to subtract the number in worksheet 2 from worksheet 1 and have it automatically inserted into a 3rd worksheet. I have no idea how to accomplish this.

Say for example, worksheet 1 (cell B2) has number 125 and worksheet 2 (cell B2) number 147. So I need 125-147 to automatically be put into worksheet 3 cell B2 (which would be -22)

I have 336 cells this would need to be done for and more at the end of each month.

I'm not sure if this makes sense or not so if I need to add anymore info please let me know.

Hi Adam,

Put this formula =Worksheet1!B2-Worksheet2!B2 into cell B2 of Worksheet3 and copy down as required.
