Like so, pretty long for a strange layout:

    =(COUNTIF($A$3:$O$3,"=H")+COUNTIF($A$3:$O$3,"=L/D")+COUNTIF($A$14:$P$14,"=H")+COUNTIF($A$14:$P$14,"=L/D"))*5

Okay, this looks very scary. So do i highlight the R14 and cut and paste the formular into the formular bar?

    Totally..

Highlight that formula in the message above, Ctrl-C to copy it into computer memory.

Click on cell R14, then click the Formula Bar, and press Ctrl-V to copy it in, press Enter.

If you want to be able to copy that formula up/down the R column and have it do the other sums for you, here is the adjusted formula. Paste this into R14, then copy it up or down that column.

    =(COUNTIF($A3:$O3,"=H")+COUNTIF($A3:$O3,"=L/D")+COUNTIF($A14:$P14,"=H")+COUNTIF($A14:$P14,"=L/D"))*5
