don't show trendline through open symbols

I would like to plot a trendline through a series of symbols (filled white), but without showing the trendline inside each symbol. However, I can't find a way to do it. It seems that you can plot filled white symbols with a standard line, and the line won't show up inside the symbol.

I would be grateful for any suggestions. I'm using MS Excel 2003. Thanks

Trend lines are plotted above the layer where lines and markers are plotted.

Only way of having a trended line below the markers is to plot another series using the trend lines equation. You can then alter the plot order of the data and trend series.

You can use LINEST to discover equation components.
