I am adding up numerical values in cells and am calculating the total in a separate cell. Instead of computing the total, it displays the FORMULA (i.e. =sum(D2:D19) in the cell. Thanks.
If the cell is formatted as Text, change it to something else (e.g., General): Format > Cells > Number, select General.
If that doesn't work, Tools > Options > Calculation, tick Automatic
