Would like autosum figure to appear in selected cells

Complete novice, so please be gentle.

    I have 07 version.

I have worked out a few formulas by messing about with it but i need the sum values to appear in other cells....eg sum total of H5 to cells to M5, P5, M17, P17 & M24. So lets say its the number 6, when 6 appears in H5 it then appears in the other cells that are named.

    Thanks for any help

    Hi Vinny,

Say you have a number in H5, which may be the result of a formula, or a number entered manually. If you want that number to show up in M5, do this

    click on M5
    type the = sign
    then click on H5
    hit enter

Now M5 has a formula in it that looks like this

    =H5

and it shows the number or text that is in H5. You only see the formula when you select M5 and look in the formula bar. The cell just shows the number. Whenever the number in H5 changes, M5 will show the new number in H5 as well.

This is called a cell reference. So, to create a reference to a cell, click the target cell, enter a = sign and click the source cell and hit enter.

    got it?
