    Formulas not functioning

    Hi there,

Something weird occurred. I made a document containing some "If" formulas and put it on my companies server. Now somebody else is doing the data entry, but the formulas stopped working for the data he entreed. Nothing happens, and nothing changed in the cell, the formula is there and correct. I tried dragging, re-entering data, nothing worked. Oh yes, and the guy doing data entry is using the same versions of Excel.

What could have happened and how can I restore?

    Thanks a lot.

    Re: Formulas not functioning

    Is calculation set to Automatic?

Are the formulas referring to cells in the same workbook or to cells from other linked workbooks?

Can yo post a (small) example of a workbook that is not updating?

Formulas are working fine when I open the file.

    so, again:
    Is calculation set to Automatic?
Check Tools - Options - Calculation and ensure that it is not set to Manual!!!

Press F9 and see what happens. If it calculates then Auto Calculate is not set, or there is something wrong with the formula.

    Re: Formulas not functioning

    Hi Dave,

Thanks, I didn't know about F9, but still, it nothing changed. Now I just re-entered the data and now the formula works again. Weird. So solved, but not the reason...
