Getting column to scroll with view

I would like to have my "A" column move so it is always the first column in view, no matter how many pages there are in line. Help please!

    Thanks

I think "freeze panes" is what you are looking for.

Highlight column B, Windows --> Freeze Panes.

Re: Getting column to scroll with view

Freeze panes are greyed out no matter what I highlight. Could it be that I have merged cells in the B column?

EDIT - tried unmerging cells and clicking on all sorts of other rows and columns and it's still not working. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

EDIT EDIT - I highlighted "B" and went split, that seems to be working how I want to it. It's a bit ugly because when I'm scrolled right over to the left, I see the same column again and it has a funny split in the screen, but it does what I need.

Did you create the sheet that you are using? It may be that the sheet is protected. I know you found a work-around, but so you don't drive yourself nuts wondering WHY it won't work... that may be a possibility.
