I am aware of how to insert the current date, by using =NOW(). I am unable to work out how Excel (2007) can insert either the current day, e.g. Tuesday, or the current month, or even the current year into a cell. I do not want the day or month as a numerical value. If this cannot be done from a formula, could someone advise how it might be done in VBA?
Many thanks.
You can format the cell with the =NOW() or =TODAY() function to show just the month or just the year
Go to Format|Cells and select custom:
enter mmmm or enter dddd to show e.g. December or Thursday, respectively
