Making a number of boxes, equal to a value, show fractions of one value in < order.
Basically Im trying to make a template that quickly calculates then allows me to print out all the values required for a table top naval wargame. Only problem is that this is the first time ive used excel in 15 yrs.
I need it to fill in the fractions of Value A in ascending order. But the fractions would be different for each ships details based on a seperate value.
So one ship might be 120/30 but anothers may be 123/24, it needs to appear basically like this
eg 1
4 ____ 24____ 44____ 64____ 84____
8 ____ 28____ 48____ 68____ 88____
12____ 32____ 52____ 72____ 92____ ... and so forth
16____ 36____ 56____ 76____
20____ 40____ 60____ 80____
As you can see this would be rather tedious across all the ships involved in say the battle of Lleyt Gulf. Particularly when the totals are more accurately in the hundreds of thousands.
If anyone could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Tim

no i dont see at all! post a sample workbook showing the data you have and how/why it has to go in a particular cell
but to make a table like that just put in say a1 4 , a2 8 ,a3 12 a4 20
then in b1 put =a1+20 drag down to b4 then across as far as you need
