Need some help please?
I maintain a historical record of my investment accounts month over month returns using excel version 2003. I'm confident my formulas are close enough for me to understand how I'm doing, however I'm not 100% confident that they are 100% correct.
I'd like to use a dollar weighted return calculation; however I haven’t been able to find a proper formula. I've attached and example of how I track the portfolio.
Any help is great appreciated.
Hi Kallen74. Welcome to excelforum!
In column "i" you want a measure for portfolio performance, right? I can't see why withdrawal
would influence the performance. Also I would think interest and dividends would affect
performance, as they are incomes stemming from your investments.
This is probably not answering your question, but that was just a thought. Let me know what you think.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. The simple solution after doing additional research, is to use the change in value divided by the starting value. Thanks again.
