Can someone help, I only have a basic knowledge of Excel and spent hours and hours without success yet I’m sure it’s relatively simple as the process is logical.
1 Open sheet 1,”Daily Takings” cell D1 contains “TODAY”
2 In sheet 2 “Monthly Summary”, column A, Find the “matching date” row.
3 Copy “Daily Takings” row 22 “TOTALS” into the matching “Monthly Summary” row.
I've attached the details but if you need more please let me know.
Can't wait to see your answers (and probably see what a dumbo I've been lol).

Many many thanks for your help, you have no idea how I've struggled with this and I would never have figured out the solution you've provided. I'm still studying your solution, trying to understand it for the future.
The only problem which appears to remain is when the date changes, it does not leave the copied data in the row which then becomes the previous day on the "Monthly Summary" sheet. (I hope that makes sense). No doubt you have a quick answer to that?
Cheers
