I need my macro to ignore empty cells when averaging and not use them as a 0 thus giving me the incorrect answer.

Is it entered in a cell? If so, what is the formula?

yes it is entered in a cell as:

    =dailymeanload(council,workout1,workout2,workout3,workout4,workout5)

the problem is that there may only be 3 out of the 5 cells with numbers in them and it includes the blanks as empty.
