Macro Recorder-does not SaveAs

I have windows 8 and excel 2010 & excel 2013 on my computer.

When I run the macro recorder, It will not show a saveas code, there are other features as well that will not record.

Davesexcel has a sample video that shows the resulting code using saveas.

Hi, I understand that, I just wanted to show that the macro recorder worked for me (though I rarely use it for more advanced matters). Would prob need more information to work out what the problem is in your example, what excel version you are using, etc.

In terms of code and what you want to achieve, is there something that we can put together for you to do the SaveAs procedure that you are looking for?

I as well have never found a solution to this.

Also the recorder doesn't work for find.

Same here, I gave up on it.

Notice the youtube vid, when I start the recorder then find, and then format the cells, when you look at the code, just the cell to format the cells shows, not the find part of the code.

There has to be something at that level in windows that doesn't record..any windows people?

I am still sure it is a windows thing, hopefully additional help will come to this thread.

Used excel 2013 for Macro Recording or 2010?

Because using Macro Recorder in 2003 for getting the Conditional Formatting Code the Macro Recorder will write the CF codes.

But in 2007 and above Creating Macro recorder for CF will not write any code.

I suspect it may be the above kind of thing and my be restricted in 2013 and unable to check whether it is restricted or not since I don't have 2013 to check.
