Download files from URL, unknown file names

    Hello All,

I have a list of URLs that each one opens a webpage were an undetermined number of files (.pdf) are stored, I cannot anticipate the names of the files, so I need a macro to go through each of those pages and automatically download all the files present there, save them in a local folder.

I had found solutions when the name of the file is known, but this is not my case, I hope somebody can help.

    Warmest regards!

    Pegaso

    Dear All,

Sorry about crossposting, below is a link to other site where I posted the same question:

    http://www.vbaexpress.com/forum/show...ht=#post322999

For the time being I do not have an answer, but just to clarify, I cannot provide the page I'm downloading the data from because it is password protected, I can just say that each URL directs to a plain page with a list of documents and that I need the macro to open each one of those and store them in a local folder in my computer.

Any help will be highly appreciated!

When you joined the forum recently you agreed to abide by the Forum Rules, but in haste I fear you might not have actually read them. Please stop and take a moment to read them now. We all follow these rules for the benefit of all, as must you. Thanks.

(link above in the menu bar)

Your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum RULES. Do not crosspost your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Expect cross-posted questions without a link to be closed and a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us to help you!

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).

    Hi JasperD,

Unfortunately I can't, the data is password-protected and I can't reveal the login info. Each URL I need to download data from opens a webpage (just need to login once) that is just a holder for the documents, documents (.pdf) are listed and you click on each one to open it up in Acrobat, from there you can save them locally using the Acrobat menu at the bottom. What I need is to download each one of the documents stored in each "holder", knowing the address of the holder. Thanks!

Can't help you if I can't see the site.
And having to log in first doesn't make it easier.

    Good luck

    Jasper,

In case it helps, attachedCapture3.JPG is a screen capture of the site.

The little folders in the right side open the document, then they have to be saved using the Acrobat menu.

I hope you can help me with the information provided, but no worries if that's not the case.

    Cheers!
