Sum the total number of times a word appears in a column based on dates

Hi there,

Is there a macro where if I have the years dates in Column A (on spreadsheet 2), it totals up the amount of times a word i.e. "Hunter" appears in Column C on spreadsheet 1, but only if the dates in Column A from spreadsheet 2 match the dates in column H of spreadsheet 1.

Basically:
Spreadsheet 1
Column C - Column H
Brent - 22/06/2015
Lucy - 22/06/2015
Brent - 22/06/2015
Adam - 23/06/2015
Brent - 23/06/2015

Spreadsheet 2
Column A - Adam - Brent - Lucy
22/06/2015 - 0 - 2 - 1
23/06/2015 - 1 - 1 - 1

Hopefullt that makes sense.

That formula's correct, i was hoping i could get it in a macro form as formula's make the workbook go slow, but i'll keep that formula, i couldn't remember how to write that formula so thanks!!

If macro, Sheet2 should have only dates in col.A from A2 down and no need to prepare Names in row1.
