I want to make a workbook expire after a certain date

Hello. I currently have one that works but once the time of the PC is set to an earlier date, it increases the expiry date.

I want it to work in such a way that even if the time is reset or the workbook is re-downloaded in the same PC, it wouldn't affect the expiry date of the file.

    Can this be done?

    Thanks

    Hello chrismeeky,

Timestamp the date the workbook is first opened somewhere in a hidden cell of a hidden worksheet and transform it to a value. Then take it from there.

    Regards.

Smart. But when date is backdated and the file is re-downloaded, won't it affect it ?

    Hi chrismeeky,

If you could attach a sample of your workbook, I could show you how to work around that.

Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

    Idea:
You can use another hidden cell for the Closing time (Before_Close event)
And then make sure that the (next) opening time is between the last closing time and the limit time you first set.
.. and don't forget to have fun!
    Bogdan.
