    Automatically Format Cell Border

Hi there, Im planning to automate a tiresome process i need to do in Excel..I am trying to Formal my Cell Border automatically.

    Lets say i have cells

    A
    B
    B
    A
    A
    A

These are single cells running downwards only.
I want to format this 6 cells into 1 box using (outside borders) formating. I need to repeat this for every 6 cells into 1box...and continue on and on...

Im doing this process manually...But i got like 100,000 cells...

How can i automate this process...

    Thanks

That's going to be a macro. Post this in the PROGRAMMING forum to insure those gurus see it.

Also, your description is clear, but the implementation could be anything. I'm sure they're going to want to see some of this data. Rows, columns...how do these pairs of 6 cells appear? What are your mental decisions for grouping these 6 together and not those 6.

Work up a GOOD sampling of your data and post it along with your question.

I have attached a sample file in my main post. Column D is an example of how the cell box(border) should look like.

Column A contains all my cells with the values filled and it ranges up to a 100,000.

I need is to automatically apply Cell Border to every 6 Cells into 1box as shown in my example inside..

    Hi again,

Having looked at your question how about auto-filling down the column select A1:A12 and then double-click the little black square in the bottom of cell A12

If the last rows do not equal to 6 cells the macro will put a border around empty cells to make upto the 6 cells
