Matching cell color

I have a spread sheet that has many different cell colors that change with the cell value (I have this part working). What I need next is to change the previous cell/cell’s to match the cell color only if they are blank in color. The number of blank cells can vary from 1 to 5. This is a BOM document and if helps the “Level” field will always be there so use it if you need to.

    Re: Matching cell color

excel does not have a formula to check what a color is. however, why dont you base the color of te previous cell on whatever is being used to change the "next" cell color (expect change the color)?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

The parent numbers will always change in value. I have only 15 child “last level” numbers this is where I used the Conditional Formatting” to come up with the reference color.
