Shared workbook does not display drop down list

    Hello everyone,

Here is my dilemma. I've created a workbook in which I keep accountability of all incoming equipment and keep track of their status. I do have a macro(button), pop up calendar, and VBA code throughout my workbook. Now the workbook needs to be shared so that my employee can just add information into the cell. However, there are two problems.

    1
If you notice the attached picture, the error I receive is "Run-time error 1004....Unable to set the Left property of the OLEObject class". I did troubleshoot this and found that if I remove my popup calendar than the error goes away. This is only true if I share the workbook. If I don't share the workbook the error does not show.

    2
On the first sheet (Inbound), I have a button with an assigned macro. This inserts a new row with the copied formats (Drop down list on the cells). However, when I share the workbook the button does insert the row but does not copy the format (No Drop down list anymore).

    Notes
-Workbook has 1 macro(Button), VBA, and a pop up calendar
-No additional editing necessary on macro/VBA
-Workbook is not restricted or protected
-When shared, the inserted cells does not carry over the drop down list

I am more concern with problem 2. I can always deal without the calendar. Any help will do. By the way, I did not encounter this problem before. It was working, I must of made an accidental change.

    Have a look at this:

    TMS,

Thank you for your reply. However, that site does not give me any information on how to resolve my problem. I've shared workbooks before and have not encountered a problem like this before. Take a look at my attachment, click on the button and you will see a new row inserted with each cells formats (i.e. drop down list and calendar). Once you share the workbook, the button still inserts the new row but does not keep the individual cell formats.

On Column G (Status), when you change that to 'Checked In' it should move the row to the second sheet and carry over the cell format (i.e. drop down list). However, when shared it does not.

I thought, when sharing a workbook you cannot edit or create Macro/VBA. If I don't need to edit the Macros, shouldn't the workbook work with the macros?

    Bump...

Also, I have another workbook that functions the same as the one at top but I'm only wrking with one sheet. I have a button that inserts a new row with the cells formats (i.e. Drop Down list).

I've shared this workbook and I do not encounter any problems. Which just ticks me off a bit

Shared workbooks are something of a nightmare ... someone on the forum once described them as either a disaster that has already happened or a disaster that is about to happen. I think the distinction is how many minutes the workbook has been shared.

I doubt I can help you fix your shared workbook; it was really to determine if you have something in your workbook that is not expected to work ... full stop.

I couldn't agree anymore TMS. It's becoming apparent that sharing workbooks is a nightmare.

Hopefully someone else can give me a hand. It's just odd to have two workbooks with similar features but only one is functional when it is shared.

if you share a workbook you cannot add or change data validation so it is more surprising behavior that it works in another workbook
