But what result you are looking for ?
what you want if all 3 conditions in this AND formula is TRUE :-
AND(COUNTA(A2,B2,C2)>=3,D2>=DATE(2013,1,1),D2<=DATE(2014,12,31))
?

Why you are using the formula in D2 cell validation part instead of a formula of D2 cell?? Validation will do the job of checking the entry and based on the condition provided in the Validation formula it will allow or restrict the entry and it won't do the job of changing the cell value automatically based on the another column selection.

instead of saying COUNTA(A2,B2,C2) you can simply use like this =COUNTA(A2:C2)

This part will create circular reference when you use the formula in D2 cell D2>=DATE(2013,1,1),D2<=DATE(2014,12,31)

Data validation can not put any results in a cell - so in order to put "NA", you need to use formula.
