Simple macro to move data down one cell in To Do list?

    Hello all!

Looking for a simple macro to move the contents of H2:I2 in my attached worksheet down one cell after entering the data.
The right section (H2:I2) is my To Do list, and I want to be able to enter a task and then have it shift down after hitting "Enter" leaving a blank line above for a new task.
Catch is, I don't want to insert a new line because the data on the left side should remain static.
Please see my attachment, which should make it pretty clear!

    Thank you for your help!

Re: Simple macro to move data down one cell in To Do list?

    Hello,
Thanks for the help but the macro is not quite what I was looking for.
I'm looking for the data I enter in H2 to automatically move down upon hitting "Enter". I don't want to have to run the macro each time.
Also, my formula in column I is for a time stamp, and when I run the macro provided it becomes hard-keyed in I3 and I lose the formula in I2, so the next task entered doesn't have a time stamp.
    Any help would be appreciated!
Please see the attached file BIZ MASTER, which contains the macro you provided.

    Thank you!

Doing what you want by hitting the "Enter" key may not be as desirable as you might think. You would give your "Enter" key the "Midas Touch" (If you don't know the parable, google it) That means every time you hit the "Enter" key, you would run the macro, even when you just want a carriage return.

    Soooooooooooooooooooooo.....................................

I went at this in a little different way. See the attached excel file.
You enter the task in H2 and press the "Enter" key on the keyboard. That posts the date & time in I.
Then click on the "ENTER" button I added in H1. That runs the macro and two cells are inserted so H & I drop down one row.
I don't know if macros run in attached excel files here; so, you may have to copy the code to a module and then attach the button to the macro.

    It worked for me.

I don't know how to make the code box like the one above; so, here it is:

Someone please tell me how to make the text/code box.

Addendum: I tried the attached file by clicking "Enable Macros" in the dialog box and it all worked.

Moderator's Note: To put the code box.. Select the codes then hit the "#" symbol. I'll do it for you.

    And thanks, Frasterist.
I haven't tried out your code because jindon's worked, but thank you nonetheless.
