Doing what you want by hitting the "Enter" key may not be as desirable as you might think. You would give your "Enter" key the "Midas Touch" (If you don't know the parable, google it) That means every time you hit the "Enter" key, you would run the macro, even when you just want a carriage return.
Soooooooooooooooooooooo.....................................
I went at this in a little different way. See the attached excel file.
You enter the task in H2 and press the "Enter" key on the keyboard. That posts the date & time in I.
Then click on the "ENTER" button I added in H1. That runs the macro and two cells are inserted so H & I drop down one row.
I don't know if macros run in attached excel files here; so, you may have to copy the code to a module and then attach the button to the macro.
It worked for me.
I don't know how to make the code box like the one above; so, here it is:
Someone please tell me how to make the text/code box.
Addendum: I tried the attached file by clicking "Enable Macros" in the dialog box and it all worked.
Moderator's Note: To put the code box.. Select the codes then hit the "#" symbol. I'll do it for you.
