    before save problem

I am trying to get my beforesave code to work. When the user clicks the blue disk, the save, I want it to saveas another path. However, I do not want the main form to be changed and be left as I have it which is full of empty data until they put something in that data and then click the blue disk, it savesas and they can continue to enter other bits of data everytime. The only time they would get out of the main form is in my beforeclose event.

    Here is my code:

I'm not sure but doesn't this creates a new workbook every time the save button is used??
    Why remove protection before save?

You can check if the name of the workbook is the 'template' and if so saveas with new name else just save....

    Re: before save problem

No, that renames the workbook and that is not the intent. The intent is to keep the current workbook that I have with nothing at all filled out. That is the base form that all users will use.

Then when they click save after they have entered information into the base form I have which all use the exact base form which is Nurse Reviewer Audit V2.xlsm.............

After a user enters their information, I need them to be able to saveas another file put in another place. This is why I have that path because they have a folder on their machine, under documents under the c: drive named Audits. All nurses have this. Then when they save, I need it to saveas the new file to that audits location and name it what is in cell B9, B7 and B10. That happens to be the claim number of the patient, the patients name and the patients date of service. But, the original Nurse Reviewer Audit V2.xlsm form remains intact. That will remain open all the time as they are entering in their various audits for every patient and only when they are done for the day will they click the big red X and I have a beforeclose event if they really want to close or not.

You can create an copy without changing or saving the open workbook.

Only, I don't think you can save copy in an other file extension setup.
Secondly you need to create this file / macro with macro disabled (you can't save with macro enabled)

Your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum RULES. Do not crosspost your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Expect cross-posted questions without a link to be closed and a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us to help you!

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).

    Welcome to the Forum, unfortunately:
