    problem regarding date conversion

    Hi All,
I have 2 sheets. In first sheet one column is there for date. But the data in that column is coming from one text file..
for example the data in text file are like this:
    11/01/06 11:26:40
    28/06/05 15:59:28
when i am saving this data in excel sheet it is being saved as
    11/01/06
    28/06/05 15:59:28
the format of the column is mm/dd/yy

but when i am copyng from this first excel sheet to second excel sheet using macro its coming correct for the first data (11/01/06) but for the secomd data its coming decimal format like 30589.3264
    Please help me.
    Thanks

    RE: problem regarding date conversion

You need to format the second cell as DATE - it would suggest it is formatted
    as Number.
