Thread: how to merge data from one excel into another excel

Hi,

I have a question regarding merging/copying data from Excel file A to Excel file B.

I received Excel file A from client every month in the same format (although sometimes the figures may appear on different row, they always appear next column to the Name of country).

I have Excel file B with data storing new data in a new column by month. I need the some data from Excel file A to show value in the cell of Excel B.

Is there any quick way to setup that each month when I receive a new Excel file A, I can copy the data to specific cells in the same Excel file B with just few clicks? Thanks. Will it be using VB Macro? Merging workbooks? and how? Thanks.

Can you post the workbook that you want the information to be reflected in? thsi way it can probably be done via VLookUp in your original where it will look for the country name in your recieved book and return the value.....or soemthing along those lines but without examples its difficult to say.
