I have been trying everything to get this code to work. I am new at VBA and it seems so diffcult to just do the simplest task. I have a background in programming with Java, C++, and SQL. But trying to program with VBA in Excel has been a nightmare and is very draining.
Can someone please send me the name of a book or website, that actually teaches you how to use all of the different methods, objects, etc.?
I really want to learn how to use VBA in Excel, but all of the books I have been using only teaches you what a variable is, what is a form, what is a dialog box, spin, scroll, etc. I think you get my point. There is not really teaching of advance programming with lots of examples to look at visually. They all seem to show me the same basic stuff.
My main goal is to automate a lot of Excel spreadsheets and build sophisticated applications.
Thank you in advance for all of you help. I really do appreciated it.
I am hoping that I can pick up this Excel language just as easy as Java and C++
VBA as a language is pretty straightforward; it's the Excel object model that takes some time.
Try one of Walkenbach's Power Programming series.
When you're ready to go beyond that, try Bullen's Professional Excel Development.

As books go, I would strongly recommend the Excel 2002 VBA Programmer's Reference:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Excel-2002-P...4371919&sr=8-1
Don't buy the 2003 version (nor 2007 as that version is significantly different to 2002/03) as it was mangled by a new writer.
PED as recommended by Shg is easily the best but also the most advanced Excel programming book available. You need to progress to this one, rather than going here first.
