Thread: Dynamic Referencing

This should be a fairly easy one, but for some reason I can't get it to work for me.

I have a worksheet titled "Systems Estimate" that will dictate values on a second worksheet called "CSI Estimate". They're the same values in each cell and column, just in a different order row wise.

I would like the values in each row in the A column in the "CSI Estimate" sheet to dictate columns B through W, with the values being referenced from the "Systems Estimate" sheet.

I tried using an exact match with vlookup since the data isn't sorted, however it just returns the formula I enter, not a value.

Please advise if you have any thoughts. Thank you in advance; I greatly appreciate it.

some ideas:
- is you sheet showing other formulas as results? check the Formula View toggle with Ctrl - ~
- is the vlookup result cell formatted as text? make sure to set the format to General

or, post a small sample of your data with the problem presenting so we can have a look.

Check the cell format. If it's "Text" change it to something more appropriate General, Number, Custom...
