I am trying to sort a spreadsheet that contains cells with validation.
When I sort my data, the cells that contain the validation do not sort.
Any suggestions to get them to sort along with all of the other data?
See attachment.
You will have to be specific... what are you sorting by, what are your expected results.
I see that column J contains your data validation, but not all cell in that column do... should they not?
When I do a random sorting, column J, moves around too.

Please notice in the beginning that the cell validation is located in the blank cells only. Example: cells J6-J10 contain cell validation.
Now sort “Selected Vendor” ascending. Next go to EDIT, GOTO, SPECIAL, DATA VALIDATION and click OK. Notice that cells J6-J10 still contain validation instead of sorting along with the “Mark” to the left.
Does this help?
I see that now.. but am unsure if that is working as designed. Cell validation is assigned to a specific cell and so it probably holds that cell's validation even after sorting with the intent that the cell itself is still validated....
... maybe I am overlooking something or some workaround.. I don't know...
