Thread: Extract data and paste in seperate tabs

I would convey my thanks to excel forum for wishing me on Birthday day (which is today)
I
need to your help for a macro which I could say would save some loads of hours, below is my request.

I am attaching two excel documents and I need the below macro in a new spreadsheet
Once when the macro is executed it should prompt to select the spreadsheet and then we would select the spreadsheet which is named in date format
I have attached a spread sheet which is in a date format and has two tabs, one tab is named as Original and sample output
Step 1 is to search the three Location ID’s in Original tab and copy the respective data of that location ID’s and paste that in Macro workbook in a new tab (rename it as OGC)
Location ID’s are:
ID 0625539, 0620261, 0625539
I have attached the sample output in Sample Output1 spreadsheet in the workbook (09-06-2011.xlsx)
Point to be remember is the ID would be seven digit in number and the first portion of the location ID in Original tab and also to remember is that n the above sample output the row below the dba name is only one row at times there could be multiple rows for that location ID (refer Sample Output)
The second part of Macro is I have attached one more spread sheet for which the name starts with dept
In dept spread sheet column A has dept number which could be three or four digit number
Challenge here is that the dept no is part of Location ID (first seven digits would be Location ID) and the last number would be dept number which could be three or four digits

in Sample Output1 spreadsheet column F has dates, the macro should search the date in dept spreadsheet and if it less than the conversion GOLIVE DATE then it should ignore and if it is greater than Conversion Golive then it should copy the data and paste than in new tab and rename it as CPOS

All files would be in 2007 format
