    match/find commands

I have limited VBA language experience and I'm trying to write a script that will reference a sheet, look for certain conditions then apply an averaging formula to those conditions found.

Intent : I'm trying to figure start and finish times between different part numbers in a database, the parts are serialized also.

So initially my script would look for an initial test signifiying the start of the time.

Then the script would say find where this same part finished testing and look for the date time stamp there,

Then the script would take the difference of those date time stamps

Then the average of those differences would be taken.

Should I be using the Match command? If yes, can is there a Match IF statement?
e.g. IF this number is found look for the same number and take the time date stamp for this range.

This may all sound like absolute nonsense but I know it is possible. Thanks in advance.

    Respectfully,
    BL

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!
