Inputting data from one excel workbook to the other

Hello, i have little to no knowledge with VBA coding but i have been using simple macros in excel and noticed a huge improvement of performance in my job currently i have been searching for a way to do a specific task in excel with no success

I have a huge master list of items with the item code in a specific column (seperate file) and another file with some of the items with the quantity (stock of items)

The second file does not have all the products as the first list and i want a way to copy the stock (quantity) from the second file and input it into the first file

Can this task be done using macros, vba coding all i could come up with was VLookup please kindly help me with this thank you

The title of your message, mention on different sheets and describe your mention different files.

Which one applies?

Be sure that if a sample of the attachments file, you will find more easily your solution.

Even if the data has to be obtained from other worksheets or workbooks, vlookup will surely help you. You do not need to use VBA, unless you have to automate the process of doing the vlookup.

Just as Fotis said, you will get a faster and better assistance if you attach a sample workbook.

Thank you for the replies Fotis and Arlu,

By the title of my message i am referring to entering the stock details namely the Lot No., Expiry and Qty/Stock of values into the second sheet the details are already inputted in one sheet and i would like to copy them to the other file

A sample of what i need to do is included with this post. can this be performed using a macro and loop if possible? The item code on both lists match and this is used as a unique id. Currently i am manually using the search function and inputting the data one by one

The other potential problem i can think of is some of the same items might have more than one "Lot No." and i need to input them under the same Item in a new row a sample of the files in question have been attached and a sample of the input i want is shown in the file "Item List" rows 13421 and 13422

Seeing that you have not even solve your topic, I think it is nice of me to answer you.
I saw a really large file you but unfortunately I did not understand the challenge you.
What exactly do you want to do.
In what Sheet and what column you want to get results from what Sheet and what column.
