Sheet 2:
1004-33-01
5223-02-01
Now when i enter the formula in column B in sheet1, i need to get the output as,
1004-33
1004-33-01

Please refer the excel sheet for more info
It's not clear from the question or the workbook what you mean.
Hope that helps.

Hi,
I need a vlookup formula which searches for a "Contains" value rather than a approximate value.
For ex:
In general,
sheet 1:
1004-33
1004-33-01
1004-33
Sheet 2:
1004-33
Now if i enter a vlookup formula =VLOOKUP(A1,Sheet2!A1,1,0) in column B in Sheet1 then the output would be,
1004-33 1004-33
1004-33-01 #N/A
1004-33 1004-33
I need a vlookup formula which also includes 1004-33-01 since it contains the value "1004-33"
Please refer the excel sheet
