Thread: Cannot Run Visual Basic Editor Because of a Syntax error

Hello,

I am using Excel 2011 on my MAC.

The problem is:

I cannot create working macros. They only save as the name, though do not work.
When I attempt to record a macros, it shows up as a error pop up saying:
"cannot run visual basic editor because of a syntax error"

I have been using workbooks that are macros enabled. xlsm

Please help.

I am trying to record a series of actions(cut and paste, insert, then writing of formulas) into a large spread sheet.
