Re: Problem calculating best product mix solution

Perhaps a title like "Setting up Solver constraint"?

    Re: Setting up Solver constraint

    Hi Jstewart304

Since the moderator pike has been kind enough to change the title of your post it's now ok to help you.

Still there are forum rules to consider and one of them is "we don't do homework in this forum" so I'm going to try and help you without actual doing your homework.

First of all this is a typical "Solver" problem so you need to set a number of constraints and you need to define your object function (target cell)

Target cell should be set to max since you want to maximize profit.

The constraints are: sum of different kind of beans should be 3 (Hint format this range as binary)
number of bags should be 20 or less (Hint format this range as integer)
from 4 to 8 bags of different beans in each box
max box weight 150 ounces or less

Best of luck in solving your problem.

    Alf

    Re: Setting up Solver constraint

    Good!

Was your answer 12 bags with a profit of 40 and total weight 150 ounces? Or did you manage to do better on the profit side?
