Script which allows user to define the color in conditional formatting

    Hi there!!!

I am a novice with VB but was told that VB script can be used to customise excel as per your specific needs.

I am working in excel 2010 and have created a worksheet excel which color codes timelines i.e. I have already put in conditional formatting on a range of cells which will change color after evaluating 9 criteria. Each of the 9 criteria has a specific color, which is defined in the legends.

Is there anyway that the color can be picked up by the conditional format function directly from the legends given on the worksheet. I need this because I want to allow the user to choose the color codes.

When I started off, I was sure that this would be a simple code and was expecting to find an answer quickly but no luck so far.
