How do i count blocks of data..???

    Heres my problem

In the middle of re-vamping a spread sheet,

I have blocks of data which in there own right are separate. Each block of entry in the block has the same number i.e. block one is one, block 2 is 2 etc.Now there might be a number of entries into one block all witht he same number.

What i want to do is count the number of blocks, not the number of entries.

I.e if i have 30 entires over 3 blocks i want to count the three blocks not the 30 entires...

    I hope this make sense

name each block as ranges and count the number of non zero cells in each block, in a spare row check if your answer is >0 and if it is put a one, then count the number of ones, clumsy but it will work
