    DAVERAGE error messsage

I receive an error message when identifying the criteria range.
    #DIV/0!

The only thing that seems to work is if I copy over the column heading INSTEAD of typing the column heading.

i.e. heading is the word LEVEL in cell E8. I type =E8 in cell T3 and all is good. If I type LEVEL in cell T3 I get the #DIV/0!

P.S. DCOUNT on the same worksheet seems to work as it should. no need to do the above monkey business.
    P.S. Excel 2003

    Please help.

Hi, and welcome to the Forum.

    I'm guessing that E8 has a space character included. i.e. "LEVEL "

Does removing this solve the problem?

    Thanks

It was a space problem. A space was at the end of the word.

Also explains why when I used =B2 it worked. I copied the space with the word.

    Once again, Thank you.
