    =if(F21=0,G20*0.015,and/or if (whatever) G21's empty....

    How can I say:

    =if(F21=0,G21*0.015,and/or if (whatever)G21's empty, then H21*0.015)

    Thanks much

    Possibly

    =IF(F21=0,IF(G21="",H21,G21)*0.015,0)

    I should'ave said "...if G21=0 then...."

I get paid on a sliding scale according to the miles I run each week.
    F21 is for 1 to 1700 miles (F21 calculates the $$$, etc.)
    G21 is for 1701 to 2599 miles
H21 is for anything over 2600 miles

J23 is supposed to figure a portion of my income taxes (15%), based on whichever cell contains a figure - F21, G21, or H21.

I hope this clears my question up a bit.

If only one of those cells will contain a figure why not sum them?

    =SUM(F21:G21)*15%

    That'll work Thanks.

I apologize for asking such simple questions by starting new threads. I suppose I should search for the answers, but all I really want to do is get my pay spreadsheet working. It's so much easier for me, (a trashy old truck driver ) to simply ask the pros how to do write my formulas. And I appreciate everyone's time in considering/answering.

You can actually attach a spreadsheet as long as it doesn't exceed 100 Kb.

Click on "manage attachments" below the reply window

but I went to all that trouble making the graphic....

(Only kidding . Thanks so much.)

Well, actually it has to be a graphic because my file is a .xlr file - Microsoft Works Spreadsheet. I don't think I can attach it.

You can zip and attach it, but I'm not sure anyone could open it ...
