    Advanced Filtering question

    Hi folks,

I have a huge spreadsheet here in work that contain information on about 100 projects we are working on. I have an auto filter in the project category to sort each project from the 9000 rows of information. Quite a large on as I said

I was wondering if there was a way to create a filter to show only one example of each project? ie. instead of selecting 'project1' from the list and seeing every instance of that project I can select an option that will show only one of every available project?

    Is this even possible?

    Thanks a million in advance?

PS: If anybody know of a macro that would do the same thing do you know where I could find it?

    Good morning Ionize

Try using advanced filter. Say you data range occupies A1:D1000, then highlight A1:A1000 and go to Data > Filter > Advanced Filter.

Use the option to filter the list in place, make sure that the list range is A1:A1000 (it might try and default to A1:D1000), leave the criteria empty and tick the box to show unique items only and click OK.
