Hi all,
I desperately need help. I'm rushing to produce a report which basically requires me to consolidate information from a Raw Data worksheet into another worksheet which categorizes the figures.
The Raw Data worksheet has 44,000+ rows of information, but I only require the figures in one column. I have linked the values to their relevant categories in another worksheet, but when I total them up, the sum of the raw data is greater than that of my linked worksheet.
I have Ctrl + F to check if I have included all cells in the linked worksheet but am still faced with a shortfall, even though I am relatively certain all cells have been linked.
Attached are the files I am talkin about.
Thanks in advance for your help!!

-have tried both .xls and .zip format but it can't be uploaded for some reason. all worksheets are not protected or anything
No idea.
Create a smaller example that illustrates the problem and post that.

Basically I linked all the values from 08 Data to Sheets 1 and 2, but somehow the totals for 1 and 2 are 1 billion less than the total in 08 Data. Is there any way to check which cells (if any) are missing? I already manually checked that ALL cells from Row 1 to Row 44272 are linked, so i don't know why the amt is still short
There has to be some better way to remap and consolidate the data than what you've done. As it is, the raw data is summed by a bunch of unrelated formulas on sheets 1 and 2.
You need some attribution of the raw data so that it can be subtotaled using period with consistent formulas or (probably better) a pivot table.

wrt "attribution of the raw data so that it can be subtotaled using period ", could you elaborate a little? I am currently in the process of re-designing the entire data flow from raw data to final reports, and would appreciate any comments.
