Hiya I wish my MATCH formula to obtain a range of information as opposed to the one cell next to it. Without providing example sheets at this point, is this actually possible?
Thanks,
James

It would be better to explain further what exactly you want to do.. with examples and expected results.

Ok...
basically as it stands I have
A B
1 cell | cell
And if I do a match query and I pick A and 1 I get the result in A1. I wish however to pick A1 and it pulls the data from A1 and also B1. A range of data.
Does that help? Thanks in advance
Why can't use just use INDEX/MATCH/MATCH
I mean Index the entire table, then the second MATCH references the column, in one cell you enter the first column number and in the next you enter the second column number...
I know it might sound like a basic question, but it really depends on what exactly you are doing.. ie. are you trying to build an array within a formula, are you trying to actually output the results in 1 cell, in 2 cells.... etc...
This is why a sample workbook showing exactly your intent would be useful.

I hope my attachment explains![]()
Using Merged Cells is not very conducive to Excel formula manipulation... it is usually used only for Text data formatting..
See attached... I split out the Merged Cell to multiple cells with their own formulas.. and you can move the cells and format as a unit to give similar picture...
