Hey guys/girls, been a long time since Nov '07 when I was last here
I have an active spreadsheet, currently data contained in cells A8 thru U82
cell A1 displays current date =TODAY()
column Q contains dates in format DD/MM/YYYY
Via conditional formatting for column Q I do the following:
Cond 1: Cell value is | equal to | =$a$1+30 which colors cell Yellow
Cond 2: Cell value is | greater than | =$a$1+31 which colors cell Green
Cond 3: Cell value is | less than | =$a$1 which colors cell Red
What I want to do is not have the specific date cell the corresponding condition colour but the whole row and retain the date within (not returning true or false)
Seems simple but I just can't seem to do it
Thanks
I am not sure exactly what you want, but if it is to colour the whole row, use
"use a formula to determine which cells to format.
cond1 =$q8=$a$1+30 etc for the other conditions
I am assuming row 8 is the first with data in it
Incidently a1+31 will return nothing conditionally as you have choosen > not >=. A1 will have the same result as it is < not <= that you have specified

That was quite cool Mr Chavan!
I too wanted to however resisted as I have Excel 2007 and thought it will be easier to update the source file![]()
