Thread: Vlookup Reference column # too large?

hi everyone,

i have a large spreadsheet, and need to use Vlookups. the function seems not working when my reference column numbers are larger than 28.
anyone has the same problem?

of course i could build some logic bridges or use Index(...match()) function to get around this.

But just wonder if this problem is normal? or did i miss anything here? what are the best alternitives you recommend?

The only restriction on the column index is that the table array must have at least that many columns......otherwise you get #REF! error, If you get that error when column_index is > 28 then you might need to expand the table array
