Extensive Sheet needed for tracking gift cards

    Hello!

I am working with a restaurant group who wants to do some pretty customized sorting of gift cards.

I have an existing spreadsheet of all the card numbers, original sale date, and original location of purchase. I have a second page with the same numbers, but the page also contains transactional information on where the card was redeemed, on what day it was redeemed, and at what location.

I am looking to build a sheet that will compare both the pages and tell me where the card was first sold, how much money is still on the card, what year it was redeemed in, and most importantly, where it was redeemed. The idea is that if card 123 was purchased at store A for $10, and was redeemed at store B for $5, then I need to know that there is still $5 on the card, and that store B owes store A $5 for the redemption during fiscal year 2008.

Am I out of my mind, or is this possible in some way?

Thanks VERY much for your help.

Hi and welcome to the board

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!
