formulas for Calculated field in Pivot table

    Dear Forum,

I have tried to search through as many posts as I can for some clues as to how excel works out calculated field formulas in Pivot tables.

Problem I am trying to solve is working out the average number of batch codes per file,
eg for the 1st file the average number of batch codes would be 11.93333

I have tried ( with no success)

    = (Count(batchcode))/(Count/(Length))

If anybody has any ideas or suggestions help would be greatly appreiciated!

    Cheers
