This spreadsheet is for a farm...
I have a workbook that contains 3 spreadsheets. The first spreadsheet contains a dashboard for the results of the formulas.
The second spreadsheet contains several days of data which is collected by a day crew. The crew is in charge of collecting data for each pivot circle on their shift on each of the farms. There are four farms.
Essentially, I want to look up a certain pivot and have it display, on my dashboard sheet, 1 row of several columns of data based on which date and which farm from which the data was collected. For example, lets say i wanted to find information on pivot # 35A from data that was collected on april 6. Lets say Pivot # 35A was on row 40. When i enter in 35A on my dashboard it would need to bring the 8 columns of corresponding data based on april 6.
I've tried some vlookup formulas that work but from what i can gather it would take a lot of if/then formulas that contain a lot of vlookup formulas. It might be possible with VBA, but i dont know. I'm fairly savoy with excel but this is busting my brain a bit... or maybe i've over-analyzed it and can't think really clear right now.
Any "Quik", LOL, help would be no short of stellar on your part!! Thanks!

Almost impossible to office advice without seeing what you are talking about.
Can you prepare an example workbook?
Sure thing Andy,
Here is the workbook with some information. There are some formulas on the dashboard of what i was trying to work out. Thanks.
One way, set up for Day only.
There are some named ranges to define the farms, farm choice and pivot#s
On the dashboard sheet are 3 formula to locate farm, date and pivot#
Using this the Index formula is used to return relevant information.
Hey thanks Andy,
I realized after i sent it that it could probably just be done by "day". I didn't know you could name ranges. How would I edit those ranges, create new ranges?
You can see the named range via menu
Insert > Names > Define
Thanks Andy,
I appreciate it!
