Excel 2007 formula answer different to excel 2003 - whats going on?

Hi All, I'm a newbie on here, have got frustrated & finally decided to ask for help.

I am trying to set up a simple formula in excel 2007 to calculate daily times into total hours worked, ie converting times hr:mins into value?

i have entered the following sum with the formula into excel 2003 which i run at home: -
    16-Jan
    cell B2 : 08:03
    Cell B3 : 17:03
    Cell B4 : 9.00 Formula = 24*(IF(B3>B4,B4+1-B3,B4-B3))

When i enter exactly the same formula into Excel 2007, which i run at work i get a completely different answer which is also still in the hrs:mins format?
    16-Jan
    cell B2 : 08:03
    cell B3 : 17:03
    cell B4 : 00:00 Formula = 24*(IF(B3>B4,B4+1-B3,B4-B3))

Please can some one help me out?

    Many Thanks in advance

I'm guessing it's because it is a circular reference and you have it set up differently in Excel 2003.

Hi, not sure what you mean "have it set up diffeerently"?

Ive copied & pasted the same cells & formulas from 2003 to 2007 & still get the 00:00 hrs:mins.

all i want is to be able to convert the time 00:00 to 0.0 so i can add up total hours worked, can you suggest a formula that would work?

I really would appreciate any further helpful comments.
    Thanks

Is that circular reference in your example correct. I guess TMShucks is suggesting that you have an iteration value to aloow circular references in 2003 but not in 2007.
