Hi,
over the last two days I've experienced problems with this forum. Yesterday, the main page would crash my IE7 session, but I could go to some inner pages and search the forum. Sometimes opening a post or looking at a search page would crash IE7, sometimes I could work just fine.
I'm working in two environments, one is a Citrix environment with IE7 served via Citrix and the other is a computer with IE7 running locally. IE7 would crash every time on the Citrix-served IE7 and intermittently on the local machine.
At home, using Firefox, all was good.
This morning, Citrix IE7 crashes again, and also my locally installed IE7, as soon as I load any forum page.
I consulted our office sys admin who checked, and also experienced a crash when loading www.excelforum.com. I had to beg our sys admin to grant me a Firefox install, which I'm using now to write this.
Have there been any changes to the forum in the last few days that may be the reason for this?
Anyone else experiencing it? I'll try IE from home tonite, but I'm already on IE8 there, so don't know if I can reproduce.

Problem no longer presenting. Still don't know why, but all's been good now for a week or so.
(maybe it was our network guyz playing with parameters ... don't trust them much)

So let me get this straight...
You asked an admin at work to allow you to install a non-standard application so that you can volunteer your time at a non-work-related website while at work? And they DID it?
At my office, unless your title was "Master of Excel and All Things Spreadsheety" you'd probably now have someone seriously reviewing your internet history logs and discussing it with HR.![]()

This may be more suitable for the Water Cooler, but here goes ...
Ehhrrrmm ... Yes!I've got him wrapped around my little finger! It's a game of give and take. He's actually the network/security/"I configure WebMarshall and you have to accept what I permit(!!)"-guy, and he sweetly opened up my Gmail access as well as passing on the Firefox install file, which (due to his WebMarshall settings) I could not download myself.
I reciprocate by turning his half-baked thoughts about security policies and technical jargon into company intranet announcements that people will understand and gladly accept. (My day job is something like this, and I'm not the PHB)
At my office, too.
I mean, I know that I'm not "Master of Excel ..." etc., but everyone else in the office thinks so, so, what's a girl to do? Every time an Excel question comes up, someone will say: "Go check with teylyn, she'll know how to do it." (Of course they use my real name, not teylyn.)
But, just to be on the safe side (and allow you to sleep soundly without having to worry about my HR reviews), I secretly keep another account on this forum, where I post questions relating to my daily work, so I have sufficient proof that I need to acces this website for business related reasons.
All good![]()
