    Feedback thread closed?

I was about to thank Vai for the feedback in the feedback thread however it has been closed, i'm assuming ALL the issues in the thread were overcome.

Is that the case Vai/Shub? because the feedback threadis closed you will no longer get feedback so i have started this thread to help you along

Simon, That thread was for design feedback for the new design a few months back and not for general feedback .. We have a complete section where members can post feedback and browsing through a 33 page thread is of no use.

    Vaibhav,

    This is very disappointing...

I completely agree that 33 pages is a lot to browse through BUT you have never taken the time or common courtesy to even write a one line comment in the other thread or respond to private/visitor messages to keep us informed.

Why did you not make this statement in the feedback thread, one, two, or even three months ago?

I'm not intending to start a dialogue regarding my next comments (or hijack this thread), however, as you've said, we are all entitled to our opinions. To be blunt, I feel that the lack of communication from yourself & Shub violates the principles underlying the Forum Rules (at least & especially Rules numbers 4, 6, 7 & 10). I am disappointed.

Vai, the other feedback thread that is closed is to do with the new skin as you rightly pointed out however there are still issues that need resolving, please consider re-opening it.

And just found out that the ALL the buttons in the 'Reply to Thread' are shot has well excluding the 'Submit Reply' and 'Preview Post'.
Have I made you happy ??? If yes, please make me happy by pressing the Reputation icon in my post.

    Re: Feedback thread closed?

The core JS files from the Clientscript folder need re-uploading to the forum root as the forum software is assuming that there isn't any javascript enabled or no javascript files, it's denoted by this .html?nojs=1# almost at the end of a hovered link.

If you see that expect the unexpected

    Re: Feedback thread closed?

Pretty much everything still seems knackered.

Seems very odd that it's taking this long to fix.

As for the feedback thread being closed I would hope Vai still gets someone to go through it and pick up the feedback that was left with good intention. It only descended into a general chat thread because nobody seemed to be taking any notice of it!!!

    @Simon,

I admire your attitude: you give recommendations to the owner of this forum on how to fix the problems here (which they probably would never have run into, had they kept you as an admin), so that this forum can thrive, despite their negligence in keeping the forum software up to date.

At the same time the owner disallows you to link to your site in your signature.

    Hat off to Simon.

    Re: Feedback thread closed?

@teylyn, granted i try to help and give suggestions but that is because an attack of any kind is wrong!, because of that attack the community has suffered and therein lies my responsibility.

I suspect the malware and script injection came from an unsecure admins PC who FTP to this site using FileZilla, FileZilla has a vulnerability in as much as it stores usernames and passwords in plain text in its files, if the user of the PC gets a virus, spyware or malware this vulnerability will be searched for and the details transmitted, the hacker then uses those details to inject to the site, checking the FTP activity will show a legitimate log in because they are using the original details.

For all of you using FileZilla, clear your passwords and usernames, never allow FileZilla to store them for ease of access later, always enter them fresh.

I also grant you that the forum software is not up to date, thats something that i have advised the owners of over the last couple of years, this particular version and patch level has XSS flaws (cross script security) and may enable a hacker to access usernames and passwords, specifically they target admin passwords, but none the less the vulnerability is there.

If Vai needs help he does know how to contact me

    I appreciate your support too
