Need help with conditional formatting problem
Hey everyone, I apologize ahead of time if this is the wrong place to post this...
I am making a diet/workout progression chart, and have it set up so that I can record my weight and measurements (bicep, calves, etc). I was trying to set up the conditional formatting so that a gain in weight or size would be represented by red bolded text, whild a weight or size loss would be represented by green bolded text. I cannot figure out how to "fill" an area with conditional formatting, so I was having to input the formatting into each cell one at a time. This wouldn't be a problem, but I need conditional formatting for 12 columns, and the rows will continue to grow as long as I keep up with it. Let's say under "Weight" I have three entries. 277 275 276 The 275 would need to be green for a loss, and the 276 red for a gain. When I try and fill, it references everything back to the 277, making anything below that number a loss, regardless of what it was the day before. Any help with this would be appreciated, and let me know if I need to clarify anything. |

Conditional Formatting
Try this:
Conditions for Cell A2 Condition 1 =A2<A1 (and then choose the format you want) Condition 2 =A2>A1 (and then choose the format you want) make sure none of the addresses in these formulas contain dollar signs and copy cell A2 to all the other cell that you need. |
