help putting compound interest formula

I need some help with the compound interest formula in excell for different values on a chart where it computes the same for various values of returns in some segments of the market.
i am unable to ascertain how to get it in terms of Rate, as i will be providing amount, principal and number of years and from that calculate the rate of ineterst generated,,,,,,,,,,,
thanks in advance
Shobhit.
P.S. The formula is A = P(1 + R/100)n - P
a - amount
p- princiapl or amount invested
r - rate
n- number of years
